Submission of Regular Papers

Submit through the conference website before January 30, 2017. Papers will not be accepted after this date. Please follow the guidance given for the format of your paper given below. Following the review process, by March 20, 2017 you will be sent a decision about whether your paper has been accepted. In rare cases acceptance may be conditional on specific minor revisions to your paper, in which case you should return the revised paper to the conference committee by April 1, 2017. Details of how your paper will be included in the conference proceedings will be communicated by organisers at a later date.

The format of regular papers must be as follows - Papers not using this format in full will not be accepted.

Submission of Symposium proposals

Submit through the conference website before January 20, 2017. Proposals will not be accepted after this date. Please follow the guidance given for the format of your paper given below. Following the review process, by March 20, 2017 you will be sent a decision about whether your proposal has been accepted. In rare cases acceptance may be conditional on specific minor revisions, in which case you should return the revised proposal to the conference committee by April 1, 2017. Details of how your proposals will be included in the conference proceedings will be communicated by organisers at a later date.

The format of a Symposia proposal must be as follows – submissions not using this format in full will not be accepted:

  • The purpose of the symposium is to provide opportunity for researchers to discuss any topics of shared interest. A symposium can be built, for example, around a shared theoretical framework, a shared research topic or a shared research method.
  • The Symposium submission consist of the a symposium session summary and three to six symposium papers.
  • The symposium session summary of no more than 1 page addresses the following session submission elements: Symposium title, objectives of the session; overview of the presentation; scholarly or scientific significance; Structure of the session.

The format of symposium papers are the same as for regular papers:

  • Use the CERME template –  CERME10 template (22 Kb)
  • Each symposium paper of no more than 8 pages, including references, figures and appendices. can be used to addresses the elements of a research or scholarly paper/presentation. Symposium papers may be significantly shorter than 8 pages when appropriate. For example, commentary papers can be quite short. You may bring multiple copies of a longer version for distribution at the Conference.
  • Indicate up to five key-words for the paper
  • Give references in the APA style (http://www.tandf.co.uk/journals/authors/style/reference/tf_A.pdf).

Even if a symposium is not accepted to the conference, the organizers may accept individual symposium papers to be presented in the Regular paper category.

Submission of a proposal for a Working group 

Submit through the conference website before January 31, 2017. Proposals will not be accepted after this date.  The topics for the working groups should be relevant for a conference on Nordic Mathematics Education. The working groups will be allotted a full hour in parallel sessions. These sessions should be genuinely interactive dealing with one or more research questions the organiser(s) of the working group wish to discuss and work on with other participants in the conference. Following the review process, by March 17, 2017 you will be sent a decision about whether your proposal has been accepted. 

The format of working group proposals must be as follows.

  • Restrict your proposal to a maximum of two pages. The proposal must include a title, a description of the topic for the working group and the research question(s) the organizer(s) wish to discuss, and a detailed description of organisation of the work in the group.
  • Use the CERME template –  CERME10 template (22 Kb)
  • Give references in the APA style (http://www.tandf.co.uk/journals/authors/style/reference/tf_A.pdf).

After the conference the organizers of working groups will prepare a 5 page report on the work in the group to be published the conference proceedings.  The report should be sent to conference chair by June, 10 2014. The report will be reviewed by the programme committee.

Submission of a short communication

Submit through the conference website before January 31, 2017. Papers will not be accepted after this date. This format is meant to present ongoing or tentative research. Short communications will be presented in parallel sessions (20 minutes: 10 minutes for presentation and 10 minutes for discussion). Following the review process, by March 17, 2017 you will be sent a decision about whether your proposal has been accepted.
